Sometime prior to January, 2014, Chairman Norris Light made the decision not to seek re-election to the Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee.  Chairman Light has served the Committee as Chairman for the past 20 years- being elected to 5 consecutive 4 year terms as Chairman.  Prior to being elected Chairman, Norris served as Vice-Chairman for 1 term and was a member of the committee for several terms prior to serving as Vice-Chair.  The son of a coal miner Norris has served the Eastern Kanawha County communities of Miami, Cabin Creek and parts of Chelyan in District 1-B.  Chairman Light deserves the thanks and gratitude for his service to our committee and for his service to the Democrat Party for over 30 years.
