No Regular Meeting in October

A Message from Chairwoman Elaine Harris:

To All Members of the KCDEC:

I send greetings to all of you as we conclude the weekend that started with the State Party’s Annual Roosevelt/Kennedy Dinner in which we honored Kanawha County Democrat of the Year Bob Pepper and West Virginia Democrat of the Year Curt Zickafoose. Bob currently serves as a member of our County Committee and as Co-Chair of our Finance and Audit Committee, and Curt previously served as a member of our County Committee and was the previous Executive Director of the State Party. Many Congratulations to the both of them!

Several of our Democratic Nominees for the House of Delegates went door to door canvassing yesterday, including Delegate Hollis Lewis, as did our Democratic Nominee for County Commission Natalie Tennant. We need all members of our committee to assist with these efforts to elect Democrats.

This email is to serve as notice that at our September Regular Meeting, all typical motions and votes that are required to move us into the final stages of the election cycle were completed. Instead of having a meeting at this time, it is more important for us to dedicate time to our Democratic Candidates and see to it that we elect as many Democrats as possible from the Top of the Ticket to the Bottom of the Ticket.

There will be NO Regular meeting of the KCDEC in October.
What we need everyone to do is to sign up and volunteer to knock on doors, participate in honk and waves, pickup and distribute yard signs, attend events, participate in phone banks for our candidates, and make donations to our county committee.

Please also take note that we will be hosting a Democratic Picnic at Little Creek Park, Shelter #1 on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 2pm-4pm. Spread the word around the community and bring a friend. This will be a great time to meet our Democratic Candidates. Bring your favorite covered dish or dessert to add to our pot-luck. Chicken will be provided and hot dogs will be courtesy of Mary Ann Claytor for State Auditor! Don’t miss out!

Secretary Jacob Hively and I will continue to send updates to everyone on activities in and around Kanawha County. Please get involved! Your help is needed.
