Labor Day Activities – Marmet

The Kanawha County Democrats will be participating in Labor Day Activities in the Town of Marmet!

Monday, 8/3/18, Marmet Labor Day, Official Program:

8:30 a.m.: Parade line-up at elementary school.
10 a.m.: Parade. Grand Marshal — Sen. Joe Manchin
11 a.m.: Mayor Jay Snodgrass. Opening ceremony; Marmet Citizen of the Year; Guest candidates.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Carnival Rides, football field. All-day stamp, $20. Tickets also available.
11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: DJ Dancin’ Dave
3 to 4 p.m.: Jay Humphrey
4:15 to 5:15 p.m.: Bill Wymer & No Regret Band
5 to 9 p.m.: Carnival Rides, football field. All-day stamp $20. Tickets also available.
5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Courtney Caroll
6:45 to 8:45 p.m.: Audio Outlaws
9 p.m.: Fireworks

Meeting: August 14, 2018

Our next meeting will be on the 2nd Tuesday in August, which will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Meeting will be at 6:00pm in the Ceremonial Courtroom, also known as Courtroom #4, located on the second floor of the old Kanawha County Courthouse (409 Virginia St. E., Charleston, WV). The Kanawha Boulevard entrance will be open for full handicap accessibility. Free parking will be provided on the courthouse employee parking lot adjoining the courthouse at the corner of Virginia and Goshorn St. (on Goshorn St., left side of street).

Poll workers are due at the August 14th meeting. Please be sure to call your poll workers to verify they are able to work on election-day and verify they are still registered members of the Democratic Party. Complete your green sheets and turn them in to the Secretary at the August 14th meeting or mail them to the Chairwoman. W.Va. Code §3-1-30 requires the Chairperson or Secretary of the Committee to file the poll workers with the Kanawha County Commission.

Elaine Harris Re-Elected Chair

The Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Elaine Harris was re-elected Chair for another four year term. Elaine has served on the KCDEC for many years, and over the last four years she has served as Chair.

Organizational Meeting – Tuesday July 10th

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE KCDEC:

I want to take a minute and welcome the new members to the Committee and also extend a welcome back to members who will be returning for another term.

Attached to this e-mail are PDF files that contain an official meeting notice and agenda for this July 10, 2018 meeting, minutes from our previous meeting and a member information form that we would appreciate everyone completing and bringing with you to our first meeting of the new committee. Chairwoman Harris has mailed these documents to each and every committee member to the postal mailing address on file with the Kanawha County Clerk.

The Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee holds regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. The KCDEC will not be meeting in June.

The Organizational meeting of the Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee will take place at our regular July meeting on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 6:00pm. We will meet in the Ceremonial Courtroom, also known as Courtroom #4, located on the second floor of the old Kanawha County Courthouse (409 Virginia St. E., Charleston, WV).

Parking: Free parking is provided on the employee parking lot located beside the old Courthouse at the corner of Virginia and Goshorn Streets. Enter Goshorn Street by turning right off of Virginia Street and the parking lot is located on the left side of Goshorn Street. The gate will be left open.

The handicap entrance of the courthouse is located on the Kanawha Blvd., side of the courthouse.
